Chef Thomas began his career with Island Hospitality Management in 2005 as the Food & Beverage Manager at the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown NJ and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2007 at this same hotel.

 

European trained Chef-Owner-Restauranteur, Thomas Ciszak is widely respected for his conception and work at the Blue Morel Restaurant and Wine Bar located in the Westin Governor Morris and Flatiron Tapas Bar (Boston, MA). The Blue Morel Restaurant and Wine Bar was listed in Gayot – The Guide to the Good Life, as “Best New Restaurants in the USA” and the Flatiron Tapas Bar received ***1/2 stars in the Boston Globe.

 

Born in Germany, Chef Ciszak trained at the Culinary Institute of Reckinghausen and the Technical College for Food Services in Datteln, Germany, where he studied nutrition and food chemistry. He completed an extensive training program at Jammertal, mastering all departments of fine dining, hotels and restaurants, before working in two of Germany’s top restaurants: The Residence, a Michelin two-star restaurant, and Benedikt, rated one of the best Euro-Asian restaurants in Europe.

 

Chef Ciszak continued his American education becoming Executive Chef at New York’s famed Tavern on the Green and Shelly Fireman’s – Shelly’s New York.

 

Chef Ciszak is seen as an industry activist often participating in philanthropic events and forums; and sought after as a Celebrity Chef for televised segments.  As Owner of Chakra Restaurant and TC Culinary Solutions, Ciszak has headed a full service restaurant and consulting company. Chef Ciszak is professionally active internationally in Europe, India, Asia and the USA.
