Mark R. George
Mr. George joined Island Hospitality in 2005 as General Manager of the Residence Inn Binghamton, NY where he won General Manager of the year. Mr. George then took on other General Manager roles at other Island locations including a Residence Inn in Gaithersburg, Maryland and Sheraton in Rockville, Maryland. He, again, was awarded GM of the year in 2008 for his work at the Gaithersburg Residence Inn. In 2011, Mr. George moved to Florida ,at Islands request, to become the General Manager of the Courtyard in Ft. Lauderdale. In addition to being an effective General Manager, he also played an intrical part of Islands’ onboarding specialist team for new hire General Mangers.
Mr. George was promoted to Vice President of Field Sales – East in August of 2014 and works directly with the hotels sales teams to uncover and maximize sales and marketing opportunities. He is responsible for over 50 hotels from the Texas east.
Prior to joining Island, Mr. George was an At Your Service Manager for four years at the New York Marriott East Side hotel in New York City. Mr. George graduated has a BA in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management from Mercyhurst College.
